JGW+ Advancement

JGW+ Advancement

This Advancement programme is for young learners aged between 16-19 who already know what career they would like to follow and are ready to train at this level or have naturally progressed from the JGW+ Engagement strand.

The Advancement programme encompasses the identification and addressing of a learning barrier (or barriers) to support the learner progressing into vocational or other learning at level 2, or entering employment.  This pathway will include work placements, community projects, voluntary work and centre based learning sessions to deliver a qualification and credit framework (QCF) qualification which tests occupational competencies at Level 1 or an Essential Skills qualification at level 2 relevant to a career aim of a learner, before progressing to either employment or further learning a higher level.

The Advancement strand is available in a wide breadth of occupations and industries, for example Digital Marketing and IT, Adult Care, Childcare, Hospitality, Administration or Retail.  You will benefit from learning with industry experts who will stretch and challenge your knowledge and give you every opportunity to succeed in your chosen career.

The JGW+ Programme, led by the Welsh Government, is supported by the European Social Fund
