We at PRP Training Ltd are committed to nurturing and developing Employability skills with our learners and focus on overcoming barriers to learning and work in our delivery of Traineeship programmes. So much so that the last three years we have come in above the national comparator for progressions into full time employment, full time voluntary employment and higher education.
“We have had great success working with PRP through their work placement scheme. The process of taking on a learner has been seamless from start to finish – from providing information on how we could collaborate, to assessing our business needs, finding a suitable learner, working to establish the best format for the work placement, to the on-going support and progress meetings.
Following a successful interview facilitated by PRP, our learner joined our administration team on a 6 month work placement. From the start, PRP have been key to developing the commitment and skills of our learner. Basic skills such as timekeeping and reliability were encouraged through the provision of a weekly diary and travel form, which the learner completed each week. We then had opportunity to provide feedback and comments using the same form. PRP also provided 1 day per week for the learner to be based in centre – this provided time for our learner to work on her NVQ in Business Administration and to work on her key skills. The modules completed were relevant to the work placement and our business, meaning the learner gained and developed valuable business skills. Through the combination of centre based support and on the job experience, our learner flourished and it was evident that her administrative skills, communication skills and personal skills were improving daily. Our learner gained a lot of confidence and it was extremely encouraging to see her transformation and development. It was also evident that the learner benefited from the support of PRP and the work placement process as a whole.
From a business perspective, PRP were professional, informative and supportive at all times. Good communication and always on hand to assist if required. All information provided was clear and their goal was to find a suitable work placement which benefited both the learner and the employer. This was a success.
Overall, we had a great 6 month’s supporting our learner and working with PRP. Following successful completion of her work placement our learner is now working for our business as an Apprentice Administrator.”
